YOUTH ON THE MOVE!

Stevens Point Area YMCA youth sports program teaches fundamentals and builds character through the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out. We have various sports and programming available throughout the year for kids age 3 through elementary school. To see a complete list of current sports programs, check out our current program guide online.

Youth Sports Classes & Clinics

Our youth sports classes and clinics help kids develop a love for sports by focusing on skill development and teaching the fundamentals of the game. In the Y's sports classes, we focus on skill development and strengthening those skills throughout the duration of the program.

Cheer Clinic

June 23 - July 2 | Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays | Located in Group Ex Room

Get ready to jump, cheer, and dance! Our Cheer Clinic is a perfect opportunity for school-age children to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading in a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment. Participants will be introduced to basic cheer motions, chants, jumps, and beginner-level dance routines designed to build confidence, coordination, and team spirit. At the end of the clinic, participants will showcase their new skills in a fun show and tell performance for family and friends. Led by experienced coaches, this clinic encourages teamwork, positive attitudes, and physical fitness. No prior experience is necessary — just bring your enthusiasm, sneakers, and a smile!

Youth Sports Leagues

At the Y, our sports staff, coaches and volunteers all share a singular vision of helping athletes reach their full potential in life. Our sports leagues turn a child's excitement and passion for sports into a healthy, positive outlet for them to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect positive role models. The Y leagues are designed to be the first experience in a given sport before considering a traveling program. Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators by contributing their time as a volunteer coach, a team parent and most importantly being their kid's number one fan.
