When our doors closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19, our work beyond our walls intensified. We found more ways to support our members, neighbors and community. And we didn’t do it alone.

Our YMCA's ability to adapt so quickly relied on community partnerships and generous members and donors like you. Though some businesses had to temporarily close, we pivoted our resources and focused our efforts to best support our community’s most pressing needs. Now, as we continue to adapt, our Y is helping our neighbors and members in ways you might not expect.

We provided care to children of essential workers, opened Camp Glacier Hollow safely to give kids of all ages a memorable summer, ensured students have a supervised space and educational support to assist with virtual learning, given youth the opportunity to have some normalcy and participate in youth sports, gymnastics and swim lessons, helped health seekers resume their wellness routine either in-person or virtually in their homes, reduced social isolation in seniors and individuals with disabilities by making wellness checks, plus so much more.

While the pandemic has presented the Y with significant challenges, we are still committed to serving Portage County and ensure that the Y is available for all…THEN...NOW...ALWAYS! For a Better Us.

Memorial gifts are made in remembrance of someone who has passed away, and a great way to honor their memory or love for the Stevens Point Area YMCA.  Gifts may be designated to the YMCA Foundation or to a specific YMCA program, and are tax deductible.

Stevens Point Dolphin YMCA (SPDY) Swim Team is a competitive swim program where kids develop a love and passion for the sport of swimming.  The program has over 130 swimmers ages 5-18 years.  A generous donor has agreed to match every gift up to $10,000 that is raised prior to the end of 2020.  SPDY hopes to raise $20,000 total for the purchase of a new timing system for home meetings and iPads for coaches to use during practices.

Giving For The Future

So much of what you do becomes part of the lives you touch. The example you set. The traits they see in you and seek to reflect. But what if it were possible to have the good you do last longer than the here and now.  Many generous individuals wish to make gifts in the future to the Stevens Point Area YMCA. They are giving through their estate plans or by making immediate contributions that can generate a life of income or special tax benefits to the YMCA Foundation.

There are many ways of giving to the Stevens Point Area YMCA. Annual Campaign, Campers In Cabins, Memorials, Swim Team Capital and through the Foundation including annuities, trusts and life insurance.
