The Stevens Point Area YMCA has been learning and growing with area families for many years. We understand the trials that today’s families face, we are aware of their hurdles and obstacles, and we embrace their dreams. We believe that families — regardless of culture, ethnicity, or even socio-economic background — have at least one common hope. Parents want an improved life for their kids, a life with fewer struggles and greater rewards. Our goal at the YMCA is to help parents and families realize that dream by nurturing the full potential of children and teen, by improving the health and well-being of those we touch and by motivating people to support their neighbors and the larger community. The Y is about changing lives for the better.

GREAT AMERICA TRIP Grades 6-12
Monday, August 20, 6:00 a.m.-11;30 p.m. Spend the day with us at Six Flags Great America–where the fun never ends! Fees include transportation, staff supervision and admission. Please be sure to bring extra spending money for meals, snacks and souvenirs. Register by August 17. Signed Consent/Release form required upon registration. Y Member $58, General Public $68.
CAMP GLACIER HOLLOW END OF SUMMER FAMILY FUN NIGHT & COOKOUT
Wednesday, August 29 starting at 4:30 p.m. Join us at Camp for an end of summer family cook out/pot luck dessert and fun night. Cook out starts at 6:00 p.m. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, archery, hiking, campfire and more! Register by Tuesday, August 28. FREE to enrolled Glacier Hollow Camp Participants & Families or $6/person (Y Members & General Public) *Kids 3 & under are free.

YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program MEASURABLE PROGRESS, UNLIMITED SUPPORT! The YMCA’S Diabetes Prevention Program offered through the Stevens Point Area YMCA helps adults at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk through healthy eating and increased physical activity.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free small-group fitness program for adult cancer survivors that empowers you to improve your quality of life. Each 12-week session is comprised of classes that meets for 75 minutes, two times per week. Also, you’ll receive a free Y membership for the session’s duration. Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.

SPIRITS SHINING STARS (ADAPTED GYMNASTICS) Ages 2-7
The Spirits Shining Stars gymnastics class is designed to give all children the opportunity to participate in the sport of gymnastics no matter their ability level. Our gymnastics center provides many fun & challenging ways for a child to utilize and expand his/her sensory functions including vision, hearing, tactile sensation, gravity, body position and movement. Parent participation in this class is welcomed and encouraged! Gymnastics Center.

TEEN CAR WASH Open to Everyone!
Enjoy a clean car and support Teens at the same time! The Teen Leaders Club will be running a car wash in the Y parking lot to raise money for Teen programs. Saturdays: June 23; July 7, 21; August 11, 25. 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Suggested donation of $5 or more.
TEEN LEADERS CLUB Age 12-17 years old
Join area teens for fun, friendship, and leadership growth. Teen Leaders participate in recreational
activities, YMCA and community volunteer projects, leadership rallies, service learning projects, fundraising, and numerous other activities. Members in good standing receive a YMCA youth membership and reduced rates on special trips and activities.
Meetings are every other Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Teen Center. New members are always welcome! Participants are responsible for fundraising. Call 342-2980, ext. 326 for additional information. Y Member & General Public Free

YMCA GREAT ESCAPE BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
State Licensed • Grades K-6
Great Escape is a place where kids can make friends, learn new skills, stay active and best of all, have fun!. Great Escape is a high-quality, state licensed youth program and so much more! September 2018-June 2019. Elementary Schools Include: Bannach, Jefferson (AM Only), Madison, McDill, McKinley, Plover-Whiting, Roosevelt and Washington. Monday-Friday when school is in session. Before School: 6:30-8:25 a.m. After School: 3:35-6:00 p.m.
