The Stevens Point Area YMCA has been learning and growing with area families for many years. We understand the trials that today’s families face, we are aware of their hurdles and obstacles, and we embrace their dreams. We believe that families — regardless of culture, ethnicity, or even socio-economic background — have at least one common hope. Parents want an improved life for their kids, a life with fewer struggles and greater rewards. Our goal at the YMCA is to help parents and families realize that dream by nurturing the full potential of children and teen, by improving the health and well-being of those we touch and by motivating people to support their neighbors and the larger community. ADVENTURE CLUB ROCK CLIMBING TRIP – DEVIL’S LAKE
Join the YMCA Adventure Club for a Rock Climbing Trip to Devil’s Lake on Friday, September 29 at 4:00pm thru Saturday, September 30 until 7:00pm. The Adventure Club and this trip are open to ALL youth grades 4-7. Registration deadline for this trip is Wednesday, September 27, space is limited. FATHER DAUGHTER SEMI-FORMAL
Saturday, October 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Join us for a Father/Daughter Semi-Formal Dance. A special night, just for dads and their daughter(s). Get dressed in your best and spend some precious time together. We will have a decorated dance room, DJ, games, hors d’oeuvres, pictures and fun for all. Take your daughter(s) out for a nice dinner then come to the YMCA for a night to remember. All Purpose Room. Y Member $10/each, General Public $15/each
HALLOWEEN OVERNIGHTER Grades K-6
Come dressed in costume and get set for an evening of spooktacular activities and excitement! Please bring: swimsuit, towel, tennis shoes, sleeping bag and plenty of energy! Y provides: Gym & pool activities, pizza at midnight & breakfast at dawn, Haunted House, late night movies, prizes, fun and much more! Proceeds assist YMCA Teen Programs. All Purpose Room. YMCA SKI & SPORTS SWAP
Saturday, November 11, 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Buy or sell new and used downhill and x-country ski equipment, snowboards, boots, clothing, ice/in-line skates, outdoor camping equipment, or other sports equipment. Proceeds benefit YMCA youth/teen programs that provide a safe and supportive place for local youth/teens to develop key values. All Purpose Room.
Want to sell? Equipment check-in is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, November 10 or 8:30–10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11. Items are priced by seller. 85% of sale is returned to the seller. All items not sold must be picked up from the YMCA between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on November 11.

YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program MEASURABLE PROGRESS, UNLIMITED SUPPORT! The YMCA’S Diabetes Prevention Program offered through the Stevens Point Area YMCA helps adults at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk through healthy eating and increased physical activity.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free small-group fitness program for adult cancer survivors that empowers you to improve your quality of life. Each 12-week session is comprised of classes that meets for 75 minutes, two times per week. Also, you’ll receive a free Y membership for the session’s duration. Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.

GYMNASTICS CAMP DAYS Preschool (Age 3-4 years old), Foundational (Age 5-10 years old)
We will be running two special weeks of gymnastics camps this summer for our preschool aged classes and our foundational classes. You choose the days you would like to attend! Come for one day or all four during the week! Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn gymnastics skills and have fun while doing it! Week 1: August 21–24, Week 2: August 28–31.
TEEN LEADERS CLUB Age 12-17 years old
Join area teens for fun, friendship, and leadership growth. Teen Leaders participate in recreational
activities, YMCA and community volunteer projects, leadership rallies, service learning projects, fundraising, and numerous other activities. Members in good standing receive a YMCA youth membership and reduced rates on special trips and activities. Summer meetings start June 8.
Meetings are every other Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Teen Center. New members are always welcome! Participants are responsible for fundraising. Call 342-2980, ext. 326 for additional information. Y Member & General Public Free

YMCA GREAT ESCAPE BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
State Licensed • Grades K-6
Great Escape is a place where kids can make friends, learn new skills, stay active and best of all, have fun!. Great Escape is a high-quality, state licensed youth program and so much more! September 2017-June 2018. Elementary Schools Include: Bannach, Jefferson (AM Only), Madison, McDill, McKinley, Plover-Whiting, Roosevelt and Washington. Monday-Friday when school is in session. Before School: 6:30-8:45 a.m. After School: 3:35-6:00 p.m.
