Tuesday, December 31, 5:30-8:30PM. Join us in the Y Gym for a free family New Year’s Eve Bash! Activities include inflatables (provided by Space Walk of Wausau), ice cream, open swimming in the Adventure Pool, and more alcohol-free family fun! Magician at 7:00PM. PASSPORT TO PARADISE: “KENTUCKY DERBY”  presented by Sentry Insurance
Friday, January 17, 2020 • 7:00–10:00PM. Passport to Paradise treats you to an evening Run for the Roses! Enjoy dinner, live music from the HipPocket, costume contest, a raffle and more! Held at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, this event features a new theme every year. Proceeds benefit youth programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA. Adults only event.

DIABETES MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Ages 18 & up
This is an evidence-based, 12-week exercise program specifically designed to help you manage type 2 diabetes. The program consists of a combination of aerobic exercises, resistance and flexibility exercises, strength training, and applicable nutrition information. This particular combination and dose of exercises has been shown to be a very effective way to improve overall health, increase insulin sensitivity, and decrease long term effects of diabetes among participants. Wellness Center. Financial assistance available.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free small-group fitness program for adult cancer survivors that empowers you to improve your quality of life. Each 12-week session is comprised of classes that meets for 75 minutes, two times per week. Also, you’ll receive a free Y membership for the session’s duration. Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.

SUPERHERO TRAINING ACADEMY 1 & 2  Ages 3-5 years old
Do you want to learn to fly through the air, jump over tall buildings, and hover off the ground? The Superhero Training Academy is a class that will allow your tot to use their super strength to safely explore the gymnastics gym while learning the core values behind all Superheroes: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty. Gymnastics Center. Age groups:  Superhero 1(3-4); Superhero 2 (4-5).

  YOUTH SPORTS

NEW! GAGA  Ages 8-12
The game is played within an octagonal GaGa “pit”. Players attempt to hit opponents with a ball below the knee, while avoiding getting struck. This fun and easy game moves quickly and provides a great workout. GaGa is designed as an open time for Y Members or guests ages 8-12. Supervised and facilitated by a Y staff member. NEW! GIRLS BASKETBALL  Grades 2-6
This 10 week program is for our female basketball players, focusing upon further development of fundamental skills with a more advanced curriculum in a league format. Baskets will be lowered for age appropriate levels to build better form and technique. Ideal for girls not yet interested in traveling basketball. October 26, 2019–January 18, 2020. Saturdays, 8:30AM-1:30PM.
