The Stevens Point Area YMCA has been learning and growing with area families for many years. We understand the trials that today’s families face, we are aware of their hurdles and obstacles, and we embrace their dreams. We believe that families — regardless of culture, ethnicity, or even socio-economic background — have at least one common hope. Parents want an improved life for their kids, a life with fewer struggles and greater rewards. Our goal at the YMCA is to help parents and families realize that dream by nurturing the full potential of children and teen, by improving the health and well-being of those we touch and by motivating people to support their neighbors and the larger community. TEEN CAR WASH Open to Everyone!
Enjoy a clean car and support Teens at the same time! The Teen Leaders Club will be running a car wash in the Y parking lot to raise money for Teen programs. Saturdays: June 10, 24; July 8, 22; August 12, 26. 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Suggested donation of $5 or more.

To participate in the program, each child must be between the ages of 7-13, have a body mass index greater than or equal to the 95th percentile, be cleared by a health care provider and accompanied by an adult at every session. YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program MEASURABLE PROGRESS, UNLIMITED SUPPORT! The YMCA’S Diabetes Prevention Program offered through the Stevens Point Area YMCA helps adults at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk through healthy eating and increased physical activity.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free small-group fitness program for adult cancer survivors that empowers you to improve your quality of life. Each 12-week session is comprised of classes that meets for 75 minutes, two times per week. Also, you’ll receive a free Y membership for the session’s duration. Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.

YOUTH OUTDOOR SOCCER Preschool to Grade 6
The YMCA recognizes soccer as having excellent fitness and social benefits. This program will allow each participant the opportunity to learn the basic skills and fundamentals of soccer. YMCA staff members will be on the soccer fields for an optional skill development for K-6.
Exact date will be provided in welcome letter. Practices will be held on Saturday during the first 20 minutes of their game. Financial assistance is available. Saturdays, April 22-June 3.
Preschool (4-5 yrs.):10:30 -11:15 a.m. or 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m.;
Grades K-1: 8:30 -11:00 a.m.; Grades 2-3: 8:30, 9:30 or 10:30 a.m.
Grades 4-6: 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 or 11:30 a.m.

TEEN FIT Age 12-17 years old
Join us weekly to get active with other teens in a fun and engaging way! In this program, we will be guiding teens through nutrition, goal setting, workout plans and group fitness. Each meeting will have some type of physical component, so come prepared to be active. We will dabble in many different physical activities and hopefully teach some new ones!
12-15 year olds: Mandatory Wellness Center orientation before participating in Teen Fit. Teen Lounge. Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m. October 2016-May 2017. Y Member & General Public Free
