How do I become a member?
Joining the Plover YMCA is easy! You can become a member online here, stop by the Stevens Point Area YMCA, or contact our Member Services team at 715.342.2980 or info@spymca.org for assistance. We'll help you choose the membership that's right for you and get you started!
What membership options do you offer?
We offer a variety of membership options designed to meet the needs of individuals, couples, families, and seniors. Whether you're looking for a membership for yourself or your entire household, we have an option that's right for you.

What's included with a membership?
Your YMCA membership includes much more than access to a fitness center.
Facility amenities and membership benefits include:
- Wellness Center with cardio and strength equipment
- Walking and running track
- 4 pickleball courts
- Turf training area
- Private showers and bathrooms
- Free adult and/or youth Wellness Center Orientation
- Free WiFi
- 24/7 Access to both the Plover YMCA and Stevens Point Area YMCA

Can I use both the Stevens Point Area YMCA and the Plover YMCA?
Yes! Your membership includes access to both the Stevens Point Area YMCA and the Plover YMCA.
Please note that members using the Plover YMCA must have an active 24/7 access key fob to enter the facility.
Can I visit other YMCAs?
Yes. Your membership includes Nationwide Membership, which allows you to visit participating YMCA locations across the country while traveling or away from home. Some restrictions may apply, so we recommend checking with the YMCA you plan to visit before arriving.
How do I cancel my membership?
If you need to cancel your membership, you can do so by logging into your account by clicking 'Join' on the menu located at the top of our website. You can also contact Member Services at 715.342.2980 or info@spymca.org. We encourage you to speak with us first, as there may be options that better meet your needs.
Are there joining fees?
Yes. Joiner fees can be found on our Membership Rates page or by contacting Member Services.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes! The YMCA believes everyone should have the opportunity to participate, regardless of financial circumstances. Through our Financial Assistance Program, qualifying individuals and families may receive reduced membership or program fees.
Applications are confidential and based on household income and financial need. Complete an application here.
Will my Stevens Point Area YMCA membership work at the Plover YMCA?
Yes! Your membership gives you full access to both facilities, plus nationwide YMCA reciprocity at all participating YMCAs.
Plover users will be required to obtain the 24/7 access add-on option. The doors to the Plover facility will remain locked at all times.
If I live in Plover or the surrounding area, but already belong to Stevens Point, do I need to switch?
No. Your current membership covers both facilities, including your 24/7 access.
Reminder, to use Plover, you will need to have the 24/7 access add-on.
Will my membership cost go up because of this expansion?
No. Membership rates will remain at the published levels.
Adding the Plover YMCA facility simply increases the value of membership by providing access to multiple facilities and programs.
Can I use both facilities in the same day?
Yes! You can work out in Plover in the morning and swim in the pool in Stevens Point later that day.
Will hours of operation be the same at both branches?
No. The Plover facility will have fewer staffed hours. Even when staffed, the doors will remain locked.
Staffed hours in Plover are expected to grow as membership builds and programming grows.
This is the reason why we will require Plover users to have 24/7 access.
Will 24/7 access be available at the Plover YMCA and will my FOB from the Stevens Point Area YMCA work?
24/7 access will be required as an add-on to the Plover memberships. The 24/7 access will then work for both YMCAs using the same key fob.
Will programs at the Plover YMCA be the same as in Stevens Point?
On the initial launch, we will see the Plover YMCA being open for pickleball, walking, and wellness center use.
As we build, we expect to begin to offer programs within the available space.
Will Plover have a pool, child care, and/or fitness center like Stevens Point?
The Plover YMCA will not have a pool or drop-in child care upon opening.
There will be 4 pickleball courts, a wellness center, walking track, and small section of turf available for use.
How big is the walking track?
It is looking like the track will be 16 laps for a mile.
How was the Plover YMCA funded?
The upfront build out for Plover was a fairly low cost launch.
We are seeking charitable support through donations to offset these initial costs. If you are interested in donating, please reach out to Ryan Zietlow, CEO at rzietlow@spymca.org. There are donor recognition opportunities available.
How will this new branch impact the Stevens Point Area YMCA?
The Plover YMCA strengthens the entire association by expanding reach and sharing resources.
Growing together creates economies of scale, making operations more sustainable and impactful.
What does it mean that the Plover YMCA is part of the Stevens Point Area YMCA?
It means both branches share the same mission, leadership, systems, and support.
This structure reduces costs and makes operations more sustainable, while still giving each branch its own community identity.
Will there be financial assistance available at the Plover location?
Yes! Our commitment to never turn anyone away due to financial need applies at both branches.
Does joining the Y mean I'm supporting both communities?
Yes! Every membership supports the YMCA's mission in both Stevens Point and Plover, helping us grow stronger together.
