The Stevens Point Area YMCA has been learning and growing with area families for many years. We understand the trials that today’s families face, we are aware of their hurdles and obstacles, and we embrace their dreams. We believe that families — regardless of culture, ethnicity, or even socio-economic background — have at least one common hope. Parents want an improved life for their kids, a life with fewer struggles and greater rewards. Our goal at the YMCA is to help parents and families realize that dream by nurturing the full potential of children and teen, by improving the health and well-being of those we touch and by motivating people to support their neighbors and the larger community. The Y is about changing lives for the better.

TEEN CAR WASH Enjoy a clean car and support Teens at the same time! The Teen Leaders Club will be running a car wash in the Y parking lot to raise money for Teen programs. Saturdays: June 11, 25; July 9, 23; August 6, 20. 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Suggested donation of $5 or more. Call 715 342 2980 ext. 326 for additional information.

YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program MEASURABLE PROGRESS, UNLIMITED SUPPORT! The YMCA’S Diabetes Prevention Program offered through the Stevens Point Area YMCA helps adults at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk through healthy eating and increased physical activity.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free small-group fitness program for adult cancer survivors that empowers you to improve your quality of life. Each 12-week session is comprised of classes that meets for 75 minutes, two times per week. Also, you’ll receive a free Y membership for the session’s duration. Class size is limited to 10 participants per session.

SNAG (Starting New At Golf)
Age 4-6 years old with parent (SNAG Equipment); Age 7-9 years old participant only (Real Clubs)
Thursdays, June 16-July 14 :: 6:15-7:15 p.m. (4-6/SNAG); 5:00-6:00 p.m. (7-9)
SNAG is a fun and innovative approach to introducing children to the fundamentals of golf. 5-class session meets once a week (6 student max). Held at SentryWorld
and taught by PGA professional Brian Dumler. Clubs available during class at no charge.

NEW! TEEN FIT Age 12-17 years old
Join us weekly to get active with other teens in a fun and engaging way! In this program, we will be guiding teens through nutrition, goal setting, workout plans and group fitness. Each meeting will have some type of physical component, so come prepared to be active. We will dabble in many different physical activities and hopefully teach some new ones!
12-15 year olds: Mandatory Wellness Center orientation before participating in Teen Fit. Teen Lounge. Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m. October 2015-May 2016. Y Member & General Public Free
