At the 1968 YMCA National Convention in St. Louis, Robert C. Wartinbee, Execuive Direcor of the Stevens Point Area YMCA, received its charter.

In 1967, Chan Copps and Gerry O’Brien, began work to establish a Y in Stevens Point. The Y officially opened in 1968, in the old firehouse on Strongs Avenue.
Annual maintenance begins July 30 and runs on a staggered schedule until Sept 9. If you regularly use the facility, please add these dates to your calendar.
Together with Point Dance Ensemble, the Stevens Point Area YMCA is pleased to offer a week of dance instruction for young dancers ages 3 to 5.
The bus will be a vital resource in transporting youth, teens, and adults in YMCA programs.
The Teen Leaders will be hosting a car wash in the Y parking lot, two Saturdays a month, June-August, 10am-3pm, with a suggested donation of $5 or more.
